Graphic Design
These are some examples of graphic design work I've done or collaborated on. The first one is a quote from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis, and the second is he cover of a program that I designed for an event I planned, a commissioning event for students at the church program where I worked. I got to plan, design, and execute the event, which included a dinner, entertainment, and a commissioning with words from the school director and the lead pastor. It ended up being the last big thing I did in my time in ministry, and it was my crowning achievement. Event planning was something I had always wanted to do. While running this event, I discovered how much I love planning and running events, and I was also so proud of the program I designed and the social media posts I did for the event. Thanks to my educational experiences, I would now use more communication skills in planning an event, as well as organizational leadership skills and team communication to make sure an even more effective event takes place. Event planning or running operations of some kind is a career that I would love to explore more, and this event was where I discovered a knack for it.
These are some designs I've done for social media posts. The first one, "Grace is free", is one of my favorite images I've ever made using Canva, and one of the first I made as a social media coordinator for the church school I worked at, and I think it highlights my abilities and style. I enjoyed working with different patterns and textures to create this image, and it encouraged me to keep playing around with texture and images to create really interesting images. As a communications major, social media management and strategy is a career path that I would enjoy exploring, so highlighting one of my first experiences is helpful. As I have grown, I have learned more about graphic design, and would probably choose more consistent branding for my work, as this didn’t match the modern branding that my work used. However, I still love using texture and graphics together in designs, and would love learning more about more in-depth graphic design programs to create even better pieces.
At the bottom are more examples of graphic design I've done. I enjoy playing around with fonts and styles, and I also enjoy making vinyl cutouts with my Cricut machine! I like to think that I am pretty good at coming up with merchandise ideas, though I'm not the best artist. I also love including scripture or book quotes in my work whenever possible.
